On behalf of the membership and the Executive Board of the Guild For Professional Pharmacists, I'd like to welcome you into an organization of more than 3000 pharmacists who are committed to improving wages, benefits, working conditions and the practice of pharmacy.
The Guild is a growing organization composed and directed solely by pharmacists such as yourself. As you become further acquainted with the Guild, we know you will share the same pride of accomplishment we pharmacists have attained through this professional labor organization.
If pharmacy is to be a true profession, we must respect ourselves as professionals and demand professional wages and working conditions. We must be willing to finance these demands and back them up by withholding our professional services when necessary. An employer will not respect our needs until he respects us as professionals who will respond to adverse conditions.
The purpose of any organization representing employees is to act collectively to improve working conditions, wages and professional standards. Most employers have demonstrated that they pay no attention to individual employees acting alone. The Guild For Professional Pharmacists is a professional organization, composed, run and controlled exclusively by employee pharmacists. It is an organization in which all pharmacists can exert their influence, acting together, to better their economic and professional futures.
